Avian Management Services donated a copy of AIMS to the Philippine Eagle Foundation to assist them in their conservation program.

Philippine Eagle Foundation

Modern technology aids highly endangered eagle.

The Philippine Eagle Foundation, the primary organisation working to save the highly endangered Pithecophaga jefferyi in the Philippines, recently received a donation of the Avian Incubation Management Systems, AIMS, software in support of its captive breeding program.

AIMS is expected to help improve the P.E.F's egg data management as well as the tracking of eggs under incubation.  Prior to receiving AIMS the organisation had been recording data manually resulting in a lot of lost hours especially when trying to track production data from individual birds.  AIMS will help address data management problems and hopefully free up staff to spend more time with raptor management routines at the breeding facility.

Success in the  captive propagation of Philippine Eagles has been limited and production continue to be sporadic primarily due to poor breeding stock.  The P.E.F. is currently working for government approval to improve the gene pool for the species by collecting a limited number of eggs and/or young which will be reared for captive propagation.

AIMS sets up the necessary P.E.F. infrastructure as it gears up for increased and improved egg production in the future.

The AIMS software has really helped us with managing our breeding program.
